These terms apply to all orders placed with Rodfather Reels ("we", "us", "our"), based in New Zealand. By placing an order you agree to the terms below.
1. Products
We sell second-hand electric fishing reels imported from Japan, along with related accessories (batteries, cables, line, parts). Unless otherwise stated, every reel is used. Photos shown on the website are indicative only — the reel you receive may differ cosmetically from the photo. We can email you a photo of your specific reel before payment on request.
2. Condition
Every reel is second-hand and inspected on the bench before listing. Each reel's condition is described as it stands at the time of listing. Photos are indicative — the reel you receive may differ cosmetically from the photo. We can send a photo of your specific reel before payment on request.
3. Pricing & payment
Prices are in New Zealand Dollars (NZD) and include GST where applicable. Payment is by bank transfer to the account details emailed in your order confirmation. Your reel is reserved for 24 hours pending payment; if payment is not received within that window the reservation may be released.
4. Shipping
We use NZ courier companies (NZ Post, Aramex, Castle Parcels, GoSweetSpot or similar). Shipping is typically $15-$25 for a single reel to urban or rural NZ addresses. Tracking numbers are provided on request. International shipping is available on request — contact us for a quote.
5. Warranty
All used reels carry a 3 month warranty from date of dispatch, unless otherwise stated in the product description. New products (cords, bearings, line, etc.) carry a 12 month warranty.
Warranty covers mechanical failure under normal fishing use. It does not cover: damage from corrosion due to inadequate post-use rinsing; damage from being dropped or knocked; damage from reverse-polarity or over-voltage on the power supply; or cosmetic wear.
6. Returns & exchanges
If you find the reel isn't what you need, contact us within a reasonable time of receiving it. Provided the reel is in the same condition as when you received it, we will often exchange it for a different reel (at our discretion). Return shipping is at your cost unless the reel was misdescribed.
7. Consumer Guarantees Act
Nothing in these terms removes or limits any rights you may have under the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or the Fair Trading Act 1986.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability for any single claim is limited to the amount paid for the relevant product. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses (loss of fishing time, missed trips, etc.).
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of New Zealand.
